Hello Again!!

Hello again! It's been quite a while, eh?

Apologies for my complete lack of posting this year, but as I mentioned before this year saw me move across the world to start a whole new adventure in the Middle East!
I had promised myself I would keep the blog going and update regularly throughout my travels but, obviously, that has not happened - until now!!

So, a little over 9 months ago I packed my bags, said goodbye to my family, friends and everything and everyone I've ever known and gotten on a plane to Abu Dhabi (which is not Dubai - as is a popular misconception unfortunately!).

Now here I am, all these months later, and I can honestly say it was the best decision I've ever made in my life! I LOVE it here! I love my job, my friends, the amazing weather! Everything!

For those who haven't read, or have simply forgotten, I moved here to become an Air Hostess/Cabin Crew for one of the worlds leading airlines. I completely fell into this opportunity which I am so very thankful for but I have worked my arse off to get here and to stay here and it is the best sense of achievement I've had yet. It has been extremely challenging at times: homesickness, loneliness and a very tough training schedule were just a few of the things that made me question my decision. Thankfully I stuck with my guns. I knew this would be the right decision for me and knew it would be worth it in the end! By now I've gotten through the training, made some of the best friends I've ever had, have had a few trips home and have enjoyed the most rewarding job - with some of the best perks - I could ever have dreamt of!

I have seen more countries in the past few months than I would have ever thought I could see in a lifetime and have worked and became friends with people from so many places - it has honestly been the craziest experience so far!

Although this all seems fine and dandy, being cabin crew is definitely not without its huge share of difficulties! Yes I have seen every country I could name, but in 24-hour slots. Yes I have met and befriended people from various nationalities, but that is not without its own difficulties too. And I am always tired! Right now, for example, it is 4:15am and I have been unable to sleep all night due to jet-lag and a messed up sleeping pattern from my previous flights (despite having the past 3 days off work), and I have a pickup time in an hour to fly to Brazil (a 16 hour flight).
But, these are just some of the things I have learnt to deal with! I never knew coffee could taste so good in the morning!

Well, I better go and get the red lippie on and make sure my bags are packed (packing never gets easier, nor does applying the perfect red lip), I hope to write way more blog posts very soon about anything and everything! Travel, beauty, fashion, everything! I will also get a more detailed account of my time here up - where I've been etc :)
