Everyday Essential Makeup Products

Thought I'd do a quick post on the makeup products I use every day. Usually I'm running to work or college or somewhere and don't have time to do my full face of slap, so a few essential products are always on hand to help me do a quick natural makeup look.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
I love this foundation! It's medium coverage, the perfect mix of matte and dewy and it's lasts on me all day! It also comes in a perfect shade for me - no51 light vanilla. I'm usually between NC15 and NC20 in MAC, ie yellow toned and quite pale, so I find it very hard to find a foundation shade that is both pale enough and not a ridiculous shade of pink without having to spend €30-40! This foundation is under €15 and regularly on offer in boots so its a perfect every day foundation for me.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
I use this powder in 001 - translucent as I find that any powders with colours in them always end up leaving my perfectly matched foundation look five shades too dark.  This powder doesn't do that, tis great and again so cheap (around €5). A light dusting of this over your foundation is the perfect setting, and because it is translucent you can top up your t-zone throughout the day without ending up orange.

Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette
I don't actually use this for eyeshadow all that much as I'm not a fan of shimmery shadows, but I use the dark brown 'liner' shadow on my eyebrows, using the liner brush that comes with it! The brush to me is perfect for brows, thin and flat allowing precise application for the perfect brow, and the shadow itself is a nice matte deep brown, so you have to be careful not to go overboard especially with a natural makeup look.

NYC Big Bold Mascara
This is a great mascara! I've tried loads, from budget to expensive and this is up there with one of my favourites (rivalling benefit they're real). The main thing I look for in a mascara is thickening and definitely non clumpy, as I have very long lashes however they are quite thin, so any clumps are very very obvious and spider-y looking.
To be honest I'm still looking for my go-to mascara, but this one is a fantastic option especially at under €5 :)

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
If I have time to put on some eyeshadow this is what I reach for. My favourite combo is W.O.S. on the lid and a light bit of Naked 2 on the crease, with a dab of Venus in the corner of my eye for a very natural work/college look, or Naked 2 on the lid and Faint on the crease for a bit more dramatic. A smudge of crave along the lash line finishes off the look!

Lipbalm
I try not to use lipsticks every day as they can dry out my lips, so I usually just use some lip balm! My current favourites are burst bees stick or Soltan lip balm SPF 30 available in boots. I discovered this one when on my holidays as I wanted something with an SPF in it so I grabbed this and it's great!
